He Finally Did It

First of all let me say I had a wonderful Christmas. My family and I are very blessed. We all enjoyed our time together.

Now, for the rest of the story....
The day after Christmas my sister came into my room and woke me up at 6:00. I thought she was crying. She said "He finally did it". I don't wake up easily so I wasn't processing anything. I said "Who's dead?... Who did what?" She said "Jon hit your car. I'm trying not to laugh." I said " Are you seriuos?" "Yes. He backed into your car. He wasn't paying attention.". I sat up and we both busted out lauging.

So I came downstairs, waited for daylight to fully assess the damage, and had some coffee. My car is now in the shop getting a new driver side door panel and mirror. I get to drive his Mustang for the next week. He's going to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl so he doesn't need it. We were parked on a hill. His car needs a little touch up paint but that's about it. You can't tell it's even been in a wreck.

Welcome to my life! Atleast I wasn't in the car this time! I hope 2008 is car wreck free for me!

More Church Signs

I forgot my camera on my trip to Alabama this weekend. I would have loved to have the pictures of these but I'll pass the messages along anyway.

"We shall call him Immanuel"..... because you ran out of "E's" or what?!

"O Come All Ye Faithful Worhip 9:30".... Can you say PROOFREAD YOUR SIGN!!

"God Is.
Any Questions?".... Well, for the unsaved person driving by reading your sign I imagine they have lots of questions. They're probably not coming to your church for answers now!

Christmas Cards

I love sending Christmas cards every year. It seems to me that people don't take the time to do that much anymore. It's such a simple thing to let people know you are thinking of them and wish them a Merry Christmas. Sometimes it's the only correspondence I have with friends from the past all year.
I keep a Christmas card address list on file so I don't have to look up all the addresses every year. For the past 2 years I have had to take names off the list because the people are no longer with us. Some marriages have ended so I have to change the names. One friend committed suicide. My cousins 3 year old was killed in a boating on Christmas Day. Some have passed on from natural causes. As I was writing cards last year I was saddened to think that next year some of the precious people on the list this year may not be here next year. Life is so short and no one is guaranteed another day or another Christmas. A family I used to go to church with keeps the Christmas cards that are sent to them and prays for the senders of the cards all year (I make sure to send them one 'cause I need all the prayer I can get!). Anyway, last year I decided to print an extra copy of my Christmas list and pray for the people on it throughout the next year. I pray that I do not have to remove names next year because of tragic losses. It is my hope that my list will grow, not shrink. Take time to tell your friends and family how much you love them and how special they are.
