Emergency Exit....

I've joked that the trunk in my new car is large enough to fit a couple of bodies. I noticed the emergency latch in my trunk has a picture of someone jumping out and running away. It made me laugh. My old car just had a latch that said "emergency pull" or something similar. Then I realized it was glow in the dark. So if I get locked in the trunk (or stuff a body in the trunk... ) the latch will glow so it is easily seen. Micah decided he was willing to try it out the other night. So he crawled in... let me lock him in the trunk (he's brave)... while locked in the trunk yelled that it glowed really bright and it was really roomy... then pulled the latch and let himself out! He assures me there was room for another person in there with him. Now I know.

I'm Getting a New Car

It's official.... My car is totaled. Gotta say I'm kinda glad. I think it might be cursed (LOL). I've been wreck free (with the exception of an altercation with a stump in college....) my entire driving career. Then 3 wrecks in 7 months. So my credit union has a car buying service. They do the shopping and haggling. Then they bring the car to me to let me test drive it. It's a beautiful thing. So my car guy is shopping for my car this weekend. Hopefully another Honda Accord, Ford Fusion, or something like that. I told him 4 doors, air condition, key less entry, CD player, no leather. He asked if I cared about alloy wheels. I told him I don't know what they are so apparently not. He explained what they were and I still didn't care. I told him that 's why he was doing the shopping. He said "so you want the best car for the best value". Yep, that 's about it. :)

I'll let you know how it turns out. He said give him a day or two. Insurance pays for the rental through Thursday. Two people have offered to give me rides to and from work. One co-worker has an extra car and offered to let me drive hers if I need extra time. I have prayed for things to go smoothly and quickly. God has answered that and so much more. I am so blessed with great friends. Oh, and I'm getting about $3,400 more than I owe for my car to put toward my new one! Another answered prayer!

Terrible Theology

Christ was the one “who gave himself for our sins” (Galatians 1:4). Or, as Peter put it, Christ “bore our sins in his own body on the tree” (1 Peter 2:24).

They Call Me Crash! :)

They say things happen in three's. Last night on my way home from Liberation Athens I was in my 3rd car wreck this year. So now I'm done! A car pulled out in front of me leaving me no where to go. I T-boned them. My car spun around a few times and the airbags deployed. I walked away with very little injury. I'm bruised, sore, and my wrist is burned from the airbag. It is but by the grace of God! The people in the other car cleaned out some of their stuff and ran away on foot before I could get over to them. There was a witness who stopped and helped me. He was also helpful in talking with the police about the other people in the car. By the time I left they found 1 of the 4. The girl said she didn't know the driver he was "just some dude" she got in the car with.... RIGHT!. Anyway, she was in the back of the squad car when I left. The police were still looking for the other 3. I'm so grateful no one was seriously injured. He are some pics:

Prayer for Our President

I received the following in an email from the Elijah List this morning. It is a prophetic word that I believe we must take seriously. It's a little lengthy but worth the read.

"The Lord showed me that the intercession for our President and nation has holes in it!"

Whether we as a nation have a Republican, Democrat, or Independent as President--- does not matter. What DOES matter is that our Nation's leader needs to be covered in unquenchable prayer, because no matter if the President is male or female, black, white or any other person of color, and no matter the party affiliation, God loves our nation and the nations of the world.

We should be praying for those in power in ALL nations so they will either continue to serve God or so that they will change and decide to serve God.

The bottom line is that we want leaders throughout our nation and the world to seek God for their own country.

With that in mind, let's read this word by Joni Ames and amp up our prayers!

Steve Shultz

Those who know me know that I'm not a "political activist" and that I believe we should vote for and elect a person because the Lord says to, and not by political party. So, this is not a political statement. That said, let's go on... The Lord showed me that the wall of intercession around our President and our nation has holes in it. The holes were created by the wagging of the tongues against our President and our nation by those who were supposed to be watching on the walls. Some have been disappointed, thinking the President should have done what they felt he should do by now. Others are ramping up for the next election.

Whatever the reason, those posts became spots where those word curses put a hole in the wall, instead of the wall being guarded. I saw terrorists look through those holes and begin to try to climb through. Then I heard, "Tell My people to repent, break the power of those word curses, and repair those holes--then get back on the wall in the right way."

Whether anyone agrees with the President or current elected officials is not the point. The point is that we, as Christians, are admonished to pray for those in authority. I encourage you to go to the Intercessors For America or President's Prayer Team websites for specific directives, if you have none (You can do a web search to find the exact web addresses).

But let's not leave holes in the wall on our watch! For our own sakes, for the protection of our nation, and our families and friends!

Words have power, and we need to guard them, so that they guard and not curse our nation.
